I love designing for kids. My children are now grown up and have their own families. So it’s my grandchildren that usually inspire my children’s collections. Dinosaur Fun is no exception. Initially started a couple of years ago after my grandson told us all about his trip to the Natural History museum in London and his new found love of dinos.
Whenever I start a new design, I love thinking of the many ways it could be used. For me, that’s usually as fabric. And more specifically for patchwork quilting, apparel, accessories and home soft furnishings such as cushions. Generally it’s based on how I’d love to use it. I definitely will use the designs in my quilting projects and for making cushions. Even some accessories such as little bags or pouches. Maybe a kids pencil case.? So many fun projects.
I’d love to say clothing too but I’m nowhere near the level of skill with my sewing machine to make clothes! Maybe one day. I think these designs though would be such cute kids clothes. Leggings for kids and babies, bibs, muslin, blankets. Even little girls dresses.
Dino Fun fabric collection includes cute dinosaur characters and some coordinates such as a colourful stripe, dino footprints and a polka dot. It’s in a nice blue colour palette with a fun pop of mustard yellow. There are a couple of colour versions for most of the prints to make it easy to mix and match for your projects.
